Overview
Fully-managed WordPress hosting — NevTan provisions and runs the WordPress and MySQL containers for you.
NevTan WordPress is fully-managed, one-click WordPress hosting: pick a subdomain in the console, and we provision a WordPress site backed by a dedicated MySQL database, wire up networking, and hand you a live install — no servers, containers, or database setup on your side.
Why managed WordPress instead of a custom deploy
App Platform can run WordPress from a repo like any other app, but that means you own the Dockerfile, the database, updates, and every moving part in between. The WordPress product removes all of that:
- One-click install — enter a subdomain in the console and NevTan provisions a ready-to-use WordPress site. No Dockerfile, no image to build, no database to stand up yourself.
- Managed WordPress + MySQL — every site pairs a WordPress app container with its own private MySQL database, provisioned and networked together automatically.
- Managed resources — resize CPU/RAM for both containers together from one Resources screen, instead of tuning an app and a database independently.
- Purpose-built for content sites — ideal for blogs, marketing sites, and small-to-medium business sites where you want WordPress itself, not a custom container pipeline.
How it works
Each site runs as two containers we manage for you — a WordPress app container and a private MySQL database container. You choose a subdomain (or attach a custom domain), pick a resource preset, and NevTan handles provisioning, networking, and lifecycle. The site's page in the console shows live provisioning status until it's ready to visit.
What's taken care of for you
- The WordPress ↔ MySQL pairing — the database is created, credentials wired in, and networking between the two containers configured automatically. You never fill in a database host or password field yourself.
- The underlying environment — no server, container image, or runtime for you to patch or replace. NevTan owns the WordPress and MySQL containers as a unit; you own the site content and configuration inside them.
- Resource pairing — WordPress and MySQL are always resized together from one Resources screen, so the app and its database never drift out of proportion with each other.
- Domain and TLS setup — attaching a custom domain follows the same verify-then-issue flow as App Platform, so certificates are handled for you once DNS checks out.
Managed WordPress vs. a DIY deploy on App Platform
| WordPress product | App Platform (DIY) | |
|---|---|---|
| Database | Provisioned and paired automatically | You bring or deploy your own MySQL |
| Dockerfile / build | Not needed — install is ready on create | You maintain the Dockerfile |
| Resizing | One preset resizes both containers together | App and database resized independently |
| Best for | Blogs, marketing sites, small-to-medium business sites | Custom stacks, non-WordPress apps, or WordPress with bespoke infra |
Site lifecycle
A site moves through the same shape every time — check a name is free, create it from the console, wait for provisioning, then manage it going forward.
Quickstart
- 1Check a subdomainType the name you want into the Create Site form — the console tells you instantly whether it's free.
- 2Create the sitePick a resource preset and click Create. NevTan provisions the WordPress and MySQL containers together.
- 3Watch it go liveThe site's page shows provisioning status in real time. Once it reports ready, open the site at its subdomain.
